Key Features
- Classic Blued Steel Construction – The steel frame and slide give this pistol a solid, durable feel that stands up to regular range use. That matters because a heavy steel build reduces muzzle flip and helps you stay on target shot after shot.
- Traditional Wood Grips – The smooth wood panels provide a secure grip without being too aggressive. That matters if you shoot for extended sessions, since they won’t chew up your hands like some textured polymers can.
- Mil-Spec Fixed Sights – Low-profile and snag-free, these sights are simple and reliable. That matters when you’re focusing on fundamentals—no batteries, no adjustments, just a clean sight picture every time.
- Single-Action Trigger – The crisp, light pull is a hallmark of the 1911 design. That matters for accuracy, because a predictable trigger break helps you squeeze off tighter groups at the range.
- 9+1 Capacity in .38 Super – The .38 Super round offers higher velocity and flatter trajectory than .45 ACP, with less recoil. That matters if you’re shooting steel targets or running timed drills, since you get faster follow-up shots.
Who It’s For
This TriStar is built for shooters who appreciate the classic 1911 platform but want something a little different from the usual .45 ACP. It’s a great fit for range enthusiasts, collectors, and anyone who competes in USPSA or Steel Challenge. New gun owners who want a traditional, all-steel pistol with a lighter-recoiling caliber will also feel right at home.
Pros & Cons
- Pro: All-steel construction soaks up recoil, making .38 Super feel almost like a 9mm.
- Pro: Classic looks with a blued finish and wood grips that turn heads at the range.
- Con: The fixed Mil-Spec sights are basic—if you want night sights or fiber optics, you’ll need to upgrade them yourself.
