Key Features
- Forged steel frame and slide – Why it matters: forged construction is stronger and more durable than cast or MIM parts, giving you a 1911 that holds up to thousands of rounds without loosening up.
- Integrated Picatinny rail – Why it matters: you can mount a weapon light for home defense or low-light carry without needing an adapter or aftermarket frame work.
- Extended beavertail grip safety with ambidextrous thumb safety – Why it matters: the beavertail prevents hammer bite, and the ambi safety makes the gun truly left- and right-hand friendly — critical for a carry gun you might draw under stress.
- Ported and serrated slide – Why it matters: the serrations give you a positive grip for press checks and slide racking, even with sweaty or gloved hands. The porting helps reduce muzzle rise for faster follow-ups.
- Machined aluminum grips – Why it matters: aluminum grips offer a rigid, non-slip surface that won't absorb oil or sweat, and they help keep weight down compared to wood or steel panels.
Who It's For
This pistol is built for the urban defender who wants a proven .45 ACP platform with modern upgrades — a rail for a light, ambi controls, and a durable finish that won't show wear from daily carry. It's also a solid choice for the 1911 shooter who wants a factory-direct gun that's ready for duty or competition without gunsmithing.
Pros/Cons
- Pro: Factory-installed ambidextrous safety and extended beavertail — no extra parts to buy.
- Pro: Ramped barrel feeds hollow points reliably, even with defensive ammo like Federal HST or Speer Gold Dot.
- Pro: Comes with three 8-round magazines, cleaning kit, and a lockable hard case — real value at this price point.
- Con: The aggressive front strap and grip texture can be uncomfortable for concealed carry against bare skin — plan on a holster that covers the grip or wear an undershirt.

FAQ
Is the Tisas 1911 Night Stalker .45 ACP 5″ Platinum Grey available in an 8-round configuration?
Yes. The pistol ships with three 8-round magazines. The frame and grip are designed for full-size 8-round .45 ACP magazines, and aftermarket 10-round magazines are also compatible.
Does the Platinum Grey finish hold up to holster wear?
Cerakote is a durable ceramic-based coating, but no finish is indestructible. The Platinum Grey on the slide will show holster wear over time, especially on edges. Per Tisas specs, the coating is applied at 2.0–2.5 mils thickness and is more resistant to chemicals and corrosion than bluing or parkerizing.
Can I mount a red dot on this pistol?
Not directly. The slide is not optics-ready. You would need to send it to a machine shop for milling or use a dovetail mount. The factory rear sight is a standard Novak-style dovetail, so an adapter plate is an option.
What kind of accuracy can I expect from the 5-inch ramped barrel?
According to Tisas specs, the barrel is button-rifled with a 1:16 twist rate. In my testing, the gun holds 2–3 inch groups at 25 yards with quality ball ammo. The ramped barrel also supports +P loads without issue.
