Key Features
- Cold hammer-forged barrel: Why it matters — this barrel is harder and more accurate than button-rifled barrels, holding up to high-round-count 10mm loads without throat erosion.
- Colt Series 70 internals: Why it matters — no firing pin block means a lighter, crisper trigger pull right out of the box, exactly what 1911 purists expect.
- Fiber-optic front sight: Why it matters — the bright green rod pulls your eye to the front sight instantly, cutting down target acquisition time in bright or low-light range conditions.
- G10 textured grips: Why it matters — these grips lock your hand in place under heavy 10mm recoil, so you don’t have to readjust between shots.
- Two 8-round magazines included: Why it matters — you get two full-capacity mags out of the box, saving you $40–60 on spares right away.
Who It’s For
This Tisas 1911 D10 FO is for the handgunner who wants a 10mm 1911 without the $1,500+ price tag. It’s for the local range shooter who needs a reliable sidearm for steel matches, the hunter who wants a woods gun for bear country, and the new 1911 owner who wants a tough, accurate pistol they can learn on and keep for years.
Pros / Cons
- Pros: Accurate cold hammer-forged barrel, excellent trigger from Series 70 design, two-tone finish resists rust, G10 grips provide solid purchase.
- Cons: No accessory rail for lights or lasers — if you plan to mount a weapon light, you’ll need to look at railed models like the Tisas 1911 D10 SS.

What makes the Tisas 1911 D10 FO different from other 1911s?
It’s chambered in 10mm Auto, not .45 ACP, so you get higher velocity and energy for hunting or defense. The cold hammer-forged barrel and Series 70 internals give it accuracy and a crisp trigger that many 1911s at this price point lack.
Does this 1911 work with hot 10mm loads?
Yes. Per Tisas specs, the stainless steel frame and forged barrel handle full-power 10mm ammunition like Buffalo Bore or Underwood without issue. The 18.5-pound recoil spring soaks up the extra force.
Can I change the grips or sights?
Absolutely. The G10 grips are standard 1911 pattern, so any aftermarket grips fit. The front sight is a fiber-optic dovetail — you can swap it for a tritium night sight if you prefer.
Is this pistol legal in my state?
It ships with two 8-round magazines, which are legal in all 50 states. Check your local laws for any 10mm restrictions.
