Key Features
- 5" Barrel with Sand Cerakote Slide — Why it matters: The Cerakote finish resists corrosion and wear from sweat or humidity, keeping your gun reliable when you carry every day in the city.
- Black VZ G10 Grips — Why it matters: These grips offer aggressive texture for a locked-in hold during rapid fire, even with sweaty hands after a long commute.
- Novak Adjustable 3-Dot Sights — Why it matters: Adjustable rear sight lets you zero for your specific load, giving you precise shot placement at indoor ranges or across your apartment.
- Single-Action Trigger — Why it matters: A crisp, consistent trigger pull helps you make fast, accurate follow-up shots in a self-defense scenario.
- Steel Frame Construction — Why it matters: Steel absorbs recoil better than polymer, keeping the muzzle flat for quicker target reacquisition during high-stress situations.

Is this Taurus 1911 reliable for everyday carry?
Yes, the Taurus 1911 is built with a steel frame and Cerakote slide that handles daily carry wear. The .45 ACP cartridge is proven for self-defense, and the 5-inch barrel gives you good velocity for hollow points. Just keep it lubed and run a break-in period of 200-300 rounds.
Does this pistol accept standard 1911 magazines?
Yes, it uses standard 1911 .45 ACP magazines. You can run Wilson Combat, Mec-Gar, or OEM mags without issues. The 5-inch barrel fits full-size 1911 holsters too.
What holsters work with the Taurus 1911 5-inch barrel?
Any full-size 1911 holster with a 5-inch barrel length will fit. Look for OWB or IWB holsters from brands like Alien Gear, CrossBreed, or Safariland. The Cerakote slide may wear on rough Kydex, so consider a leather or lined holster for carry.
Can I upgrade the sights or trigger on this Taurus 1911?
Yes, the Novak adjustable rear sight can be swapped with aftermarket Novak-style sights. The trigger is standard 1911 pattern, so you can upgrade with drop-in parts from Wilson Combat or Cylinder & Slide. Just note that the frame is steel, so some aftermarket parts may require fitting.
