Key Features
- Speedlock System — WHY IT MATTERS: This gas-delayed blowback design reduces muzzle rise and felt recoil by 30%, allowing faster follow-up shots without sacrificing accuracy.
- 7075 Ergal Frame — WHY IT MATTERS: Aircraft-grade aluminum is lighter than steel but stronger than standard 6061, giving you a durable race gun that handles 9mm+P loads without fatigue.
- Adjustable Competition Sights — WHY IT MATTERS: Windage and elevation adjustments let you dial in zero for different distances and ammo types, critical for USPSA or steel challenge stages.
- 5″ Barrel with Target Crown — WHY IT MATTERS: The extended length provides a longer sight radius for precision, while the target crown protects the muzzle from damage and improves consistency.
- Aggressive Trigger with Short Reset — WHY IT MATTERS: A crisp 3.5-pound break and tactile reset reduce shooter error and speed up split times during competition strings.
Who It’s For
This pistol is built for competitive shooters in USPSA, IDPA, or Steel Challenge who want a lightweight race gun with low recoil. It also suits experienced shooters who train for defensive speed and appreciate a flat-shooting platform. New shooters with some fundamentals will find the adjustable sights and soft recoil forgiving for learning accuracy.
Pros & Cons
- Pro: Speedlock system cuts recoil noticeably, making it easier to stay on target for multiple shots.
- Pro: Ergal frame keeps weight under 30 ounces, reducing fatigue during long matches.
- Con: The orange finish may not appeal to shooters who prefer subdued colors for carry or training.

The Strike One Ergal Pro stands out with its Ergal frame and Speedlock system, offering a unique combination of light weight and low recoil that the Zev OZ9 and Agency Arms guns don’t match. However, the OZ9 has a wider aftermarket support, and Agency Arms offers more holster compatibility. For shooters who prioritize reduced muzzle rise and a metal frame, the Strike One is the clear choice.
FAQ
What is the barrel twist rate on the Strike One Ergal Pro?
Per Arsenal Firearms specs, the 5″ barrel uses a 1:10″ twist rate, optimized for 115-124 grain 9mm loads common in competition.
Does the orange finish affect durability?
No. The orange anodizing is a Type III hard coat on the 7075 Ergal, which resists scratches and corrosion better than standard paint or cerakote. It will hold up to regular range use and holster wear.
Can I use standard 9mm magazines in this gun?
The Strike One Ergal Pro uses proprietary 17-round magazines from Arsenal Firearms. Standard Glock or SIG magazines will not fit. Extra mags are available through American Precision Firearms.
Is the Speedlock system reliable with defensive ammunition?
Yes. The gas-delayed system cycles reliably with 9mm NATO and +P loads. Per owner reports, it functions well with hollow points like Federal HST 124gr and Speer Gold Dot 124gr.
