Key Features
- Integrated Compensator Slide — Ported slide and barrel work together to reduce muzzle rise. Why it matters: you get faster sight recovery for tight splits on double-taps and bill drills.
- Viridian RFX11 Green Dot Installed — Factory-mounted, auto-brightness green dot with crisp 3 MOA reticle. Why it matters: no extra cost or gunsmithing—zero in and go.
- Four 15-Round Magazines — Two flush-fit, two with extended base pads for reload options. Why it matters: more mags mean more range time and less downtime loading.
- Fully Ambidextrous Controls — Slide stop and magazine release on both sides, plus reversible backstraps. Why it matters: lefties and shooters with smaller hands get the same performance.
- Gear Pac Package — Heavy-duty padded pistol bag, lock, and all four mags included. Why it matters: you save money over buying separately, and the bag protects your gear.
Who It's For
This pistol is for the shooter who wants factory reliability with compensator-level performance—no aftermarket tinkering required. It’s ideal for competition shooters in Carry Optics or Limited divisions, defensive shooters training for low-light scenarios, and anyone who wants a full-size 9mm that shoots flatter than most. If you’re a new shooter learning recoil management, the Echelon Comp helps you stay on target without developing bad flinch habits.
Pros / Cons
- Pro: Factory-installed compensator and optic mean zero gunsmithing—just add ammo and train.
- Pro: Four magazines and a bag give you a complete kit for the same price as a bare gun from other brands.
- Pro: The stainless steel chassis is serialized, so grip modules can be swapped without an FFL transfer.
- Con: The integral compensator adds length and weight forward, which may not suit concealed carriers who prioritize compactness.

FAQ
Does the compensator require any special ammunition?
No. The integral compensator is designed to function with standard 9mm 115-grain and 124-grain loads. You don’t need +P or specific bullet weights to see reduced muzzle rise. For best results with the Viridian dot, use quality factory ammo.
Can I swap the Viridian RFX11 for another optic?
Yes. The slide is cut to the Echelon optics footprint, which accepts plates for most popular red dots (RMR, DPP, ACRO, etc.). The RFX11 is factory-installed on a dedicated plate, but you can remove it and mount your preferred optic using the included adapter plates.
How does the Gear Pac bag hold up for range use?
The heavy-duty padded bag is built for transport and storage. It has a main compartment for the pistol and four magazine pouches inside. It’s not a range backpack, but it’s solid for keeping your kit organized at the range or in your vehicle.
Is this pistol California-legal?
As of April 2026, the Echelon Comp is not on the California Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale. It is available for purchase in most other states where standard-capacity magazines are legal. Check your local laws before ordering.
What is the warranty on the Echelon Comp?
Springfield Armory covers the Echelon Comp with a limited lifetime warranty for the original owner. This covers defects in materials and workmanship. The Viridian optic carries a separate 3-year warranty from Viridian.
