FAQ
What magazines does this Springfield Armory 1911 Loaded use?
It uses standard 1911 .45 ACP magazines. It ships with two factory 7-round magazines, but it will accept any quality 1911 mag from brands like Wilson Combat, Chip McCormick, or Mec-Gar.
Is this pistol safe to carry cocked and locked?
Yes, the Springfield Armory 1911 Loaded is designed for Condition 1 carry (chamber loaded, hammer cocked, thumb safety engaged). The extended thumb safety is positive and easy to sweep off, and the beavertail grip safety prevents accidental discharge if you drop it.
Can I use this for home defense?
Absolutely. The .45 ACP round is a proven defensive caliber, and the tritium night sights make it easy to acquire your target in low light. The 5″ barrel gives you good velocity and accuracy, while the single-action trigger is crisp and predictable.
What holsters fit this 1911?
Any standard full-size 1911 holster with a 5″ barrel will work. Leather, Kydex, or hybrid — just make sure it’s designed for a 1911 with an extended thumb safety and beavertail grip safety.
