Key Features
- Forged Stainless Slide & Frame – Why it matters: Forged steel is stronger and more durable than cast or MIM parts. This pistol will outlast cheaper 1911s and resist rust in humid environments.
- Match-Grade 5″ Barrel – Why it matters: Accuracy starts at the barrel. The 1-in-16 twist stabilizes 230-grain hardball and hollow points, giving you consistent shot placement at defensive distances.
- Low-Profile 3-Dot Combat Sights – Why it matters: Clean slide profile for snag-free draws, but the dots give you a fast sight picture in low light. No need to upgrade right away.
- Thinline Wood Laminate Grips – Why it matters: Slimmer grip circumference helps smaller hands reach the trigger and safety without sacrificing control. Looks good, works better.
- 7-Round Magazine Included – Why it matters: Standard-capacity for .45 ACP. Reliable feeding with quality mags. You can always grab spares from our shop.
Who It’s For
Apartment dwellers who want a full-size pistol for home defense but still appreciate classic 1911 handling. Range shooters who want a stainless gun that won’t rust after a sweaty session. Open carry permit holders in states that allow it. Anyone who trusts a forged 1911 over a polymer striker gun for reliability and trigger feel.
Pros & Cons

FAQ
What is the barrel twist rate on the Springfield Garrison 1911 .45 ACP?
1-in-16 inches, per manufacturer specs. This is standard for .45 ACP and stabilizes 185-230 grain bullets well.
Does the Garrison come with a threaded barrel?
No. The barrel is standard 5″ non-threaded. If you need a suppressor host, look at the Springfield 1911 TRP or aftermarket barrels.
Is this pistol CA or MA compliant?
It is not on the California roster. Check your state laws. We ship to all 50 states, but some restrictions apply.
Can I use 230-grain hollow points in this gun?
Yes. The feed ramp is cut for hollow points. Test a few brands to be sure, but most quality defensive ammo runs fine.
What holsters fit the Springfield Garrison 5″?
Any full-size 1911 holster with a 5″ barrel length and standard slide profile works. We recommend leather or Kydex for retention.
