Key Features
- Scandium Alloy Frame — This cuts about 8 ounces off the weight compared to a steel 1911, making it easier to carry all day without sacrificing durability.
- Tritium Night Sights — You get a clear aiming point in low light, so this pistol works for home defense or after-dark carry right out of the box.
- E-Series Wood Laminate Grips — They’re contoured for a secure grip and help reduce felt recoil, which matters when you’re running .45 ACP through a lighter frame.
- 4.25-Inch Barrel — The shorter slide balances concealability with a sight radius long enough for accurate shooting at defensive distances.
- Traditional Single-Action Trigger — A crisp 4-5 lb pull with a short reset, giving you consistent shot placement shot after shot.
Who It’s For
This 1911 fits anyone looking for a lightweight carry gun that still handles like a full-size. New shooters who want a classic platform without the heft, and experienced 1911 fans who appreciate the scandium frame for daily carry. It also works well for collectors who want a modern take on the original design.
Pros and Cons
- Pro: Lightweight frame makes it comfortable for all-day concealed carry.
- Pro: Night sights are standard, saving you the cost and hassle of an upgrade.
- Con: The lighter frame can feel snappier with hot .45 loads compared to a steel 1911 — something to test at the range before carrying.

FAQ
Is this 1911 suitable for concealed carry?
Yes. The 4.25-inch barrel and scandium frame keep the weight down to 29.6 oz, which is manageable for IWB or OWB carry with a good belt and holster.
Does it come with extra magazines?
It ships with two 8-round magazines, per Smith & Wesson specs.
Can I mount a red dot on this model?
No. The slide is not optics-ready. You’d need to have it milled by a gunsmith if you want a red dot.
What holsters fit this 4.25-inch barrel?
Most 1911 holsters designed for a 4.25-inch or Commander-length slide will work. Check for a snug fit around the triggerguard.
