Key Features
- Factory-Mounted Holosun 507C Optic — Why it matters: No extra cost or gunsmithing; the 507C’s 2 MOA dot and 32 MOA circle reticle give you instant target acquisition in low-light apartment hallways or range drills.
- Fluted, Threaded 5-Inch Barrel — Why it matters: The fluting reduces weight for faster transitions, and the 1/2×28 threads let you mount a suppressor or compensator for recoil control in tight spaces.
- Aggressive Slide Serrations and Window Cut — Why it matters: The War Poet’s unique weight-balancing window and deep serrations provide positive grip for press checks or malfunction clears, even with sweaty hands.
- Flat-Face Trigger with Aluminum Shoe — Why it matters: The 4.5-5 lb pull (per Shadow Systems specs) breaks clean and resets short, reducing trigger jerk for consistent shot placement under stress.
- Textured Wrap-Around Grip and Tritium Front Sight — Why it matters: The grip texture locks into your hand without sandpaper feel, and the tritium front sight works as a backup if your Holosun battery dies — no fumbling in the dark.
Who It’s For
This pistol is for the urban CCW holder who wants a full-size frame for home defense but still needs it compact enough for a nightstand safe. It’s also for apartment dwellers who value a suppressor-ready barrel to keep noise down during practice or emergency use. If you run duty-style classes or competition, the War Poet’s slide cut and optic mount give you an edge without custom machining.

FAQ
Does the Shadow Systems DR920 War Poet come with the Holosun 507C already mounted?
Yes, the Holosun 507C is factory-mounted on the multi-footprint slide and zeroed at 25 yards out of the box. No additional tools or adapter plates are needed.
Can I use standard Glock 17 magazines with this pistol?
Yes, per manufacturer specs, the DR920 War Poet accepts all Gen3-Gen5 Glock 17 magazines, including OEM and aftermarket brands like Magpul and ETS.
What suppressor can I attach to the threaded barrel?
The 1/2×28 threaded barrel fits most 9mm pistol suppressors, such as the SilencerCo Omega 9K, Gemtech Lunar 9, and Dead Air Wolfman. Use a Nielsen device/piston for reliable cycling.
Is the War Poet series designed for concealed carry or competition?
It’s designed as a hybrid — full-size grip for home defense and duty use, but the weight-balancing window and optic-ready slide make it viable for USPSA Carry Optics division. It’s less ideal for deep concealment under a T-shirt due to the grip length.
