Key Features
- Threaded Barrel (1/2x28) — WHY IT MATTERS: You can easily attach a suppressor, compensator, or muzzle brake without sending the barrel out for threading. This gives you more versatility for home defense or competition use, right out of the box.
- Compact ODG Frame — WHY IT MATTERS: The olive drab green finish reduces glare and stands out from the sea of black pistols. It also provides a secure grip texture that stays planted in your hand, even in wet conditions.
- 10+1 Round Capacity — WHY IT MATTERS: You get enough rounds for serious defensive situations while keeping the grip short enough for concealed carry. No need to choose between capacity and concealability.
- Optics-Ready Slide — WHY IT MATTERS: The slide is pre-milled to accept popular red dot sights, so you can upgrade to a dot without sending the slide to a machine shop. This saves you time and money.
- Loaded Chamber Indicator — WHY IT MATTERS: You can visually and tactilely confirm a round is in the chamber, which is a safety feature that helps prevent accidental discharges. It's especially helpful for newer shooters.
Who It's For
This pistol is for the shooter who wants a compact 9mm that doesn't skimp on features. It's ideal for everyday carry because it's slim and lightweight, but it also works as a nightstand gun thanks to the threaded barrel and optic-ready slide. New gun owners will appreciate the loaded chamber indicator and the simple controls. Experienced shooters will like the ability to run a suppressor or red dot without buying a whole new gun.
Pros & Cons
- Pro: Threaded barrel included at this price point—most compact guns in this range don't offer that.
- Pro: ODG finish is durable and resists holster wear better than standard black polymer.
- Pro: Magazine release is ambidextrous, making it lefty-friendly.
- Con: The trigger pull is around 6.5 pounds (per SAR USA specs), which is fine for defense but a bit heavy for precision target work. A trigger upgrade can fix that, but it's worth noting if you're used to a lighter pull.

FAQ
What magazines does the SAR9C SOCOM use?
It uses proprietary SAR9C 10-round magazines. These are different from the full-size SAR9 magazines, so make sure you order the compact version. We stock them in the store if you need extras.
Can I use a suppressor with this pistol?
Yes, the 1/2x28 threaded barrel is standard for most 9mm suppressors. You'll need a booster (Nielsen device) for a semi-auto pistol to function reliably. We can help you pick the right one when you're ready to buy a suppressor.
Is this gun legal in my state?
Because it comes with a 10-round magazine, it's compliant in most states with magazine capacity limits (like California, New York, etc.). However, always check your local laws regarding threaded barrels—some states restrict them for handguns. Give us a call if you're unsure.
Does it come with a holster?
No, the SAR9C SOCOM does not include a holster. But we have a good selection of IWB and OWB holsters that fit this model. Stop by the shop and we'll get you set up.
What red dot sights fit the cut?
The slide is milled for the RMR (Ruggedized Miniature Reflex) footprint, which includes Trijicon RMR, Holosun 407C/507C, and similar optics. You may need a sealing plate for some brands, but most will mount directly.
