Key Features
- Factory-Installed Viridian E-Series Red Laser – Why it matters: eliminates the hassle of mounting and zeroing a separate laser, with ambidextrous activation that won’t snag on holsters.
- Secure Action System – Why it matters: combines a protected internal hammer with a bladed trigger safety, giving you a short, crisp pull and reliable reset every time.
- Compact 3.42″ Barrel – Why it matters: balances concealability with ballistic performance, making it ideal for IWB or pocket carry without sacrificing 9mm stopping power.
- Through-Hardened Alloy Steel Slide and Barrel – Why it matters: increases durability and corrosion resistance, so the pistol holds up under daily carry sweat and range use.
- Glass-Filled Nylon Grip Frame – Why it matters: reduces weight while providing a positive, non-slip texture for a secure hold in wet or gloved conditions.
Who It’s For
The Security-9 Compact with Viridian laser is built for shooters who want a defensive handgun that’s ready out of the box. It suits concealed carriers who need a laser for low-light scenarios, first-time gun buyers looking for a reliable 9mm without breaking the bank, and backup-duty users who prefer a smaller platform. If you’re a shooter who values simplicity and doesn’t want to piece together a custom build, this pistol delivers.
Pros & Cons

- Pro: Secure Action trigger is safe yet responsive, with a short reset.

The Security-9 Compact undercuts both competitors on price while including a laser that the Glock and S&W require aftermarket additions to match. The Glock 43X MOS is lighter and has an optics cut, but you’ll spend more upfront and extra for a laser. The Shield Plus offers higher capacity options but lacks a hammer-fired trigger and integrated laser. For the budget-minded carrier, the Ruger delivers more value per dollar.
