- Picatinny Rail – WHY IT MATTERS: You can mount a light or laser for low-light shooting, home defense, or duty use without needing a gunsmith.
- 8-Round Magazine – WHY IT MATTERS: You get one extra round over standard 1911 mags, giving you more firepower in a compact package.
- G10 Grips – WHY IT MATTERS: The black-and-gray textured grips keep your hand locked in place, even with sweaty palms or in wet conditions.

Pros and Cons
- Pros: Affordable price for a steel 1911; Parkerized finish is tough; Picatinny rail adds versatility; 9mm is cheaper and easier to shoot than .45 ACP.
- Cons: The trigger may feel a bit heavier or grittier out of the box compared to custom 1911s—expect to break it in or do a light polish for the best feel.

FAQ
Is this 1911 reliable for everyday carry?
Yes, Rock Island Armory 1911s have a solid reputation for reliability, especially once you run a couple hundred rounds through them to break in the action. The Parkerized finish also helps protect against sweat and moisture during daily carry.
Can I use standard 1911 holsters with this model?
Most standard 1911 holsters will work, but because the TAC Ultra CS has a Picatinny rail, you’ll want a holster cut for railed 1911s. Many Kydex and leather makers offer options that fit.
Does this pistol come with extra magazines?
It comes with one 8-round magazine from the factory. Extra magazines are available separately, and they’re compatible with many other 9mm 1911s.
What’s the trigger pull weight?
Per Rock Island specs, the trigger pull is around 5-6 pounds out of the box. Some shooters find it a bit heavy, but it’s consistent and can be improved with a simple spring swap or gunsmith work.
Trust the Rock Island TAC Ultra CS 1911 9mm 8rd Parkerized for a compact, steel-framed carry gun that won’t break the bank. Over 40% of new 1911 buyers now choose 9mm for its lower recoil and ammo cost. This model delivers on that trend with a proven design.
