Key Features
- Optic-Ready Slide: The slide is cut for popular red dots, so you can mount your preferred optic without sending it to a machinist. Per OA Defense specs, the kit includes multiple mounting plates for compatibility.
- Fully Ambidextrous Controls: Safety and slide release are mirrored on both sides, making this pistol truly left-hand friendly. Why it matters: You won't fumble when speed counts.
- Configurable Magwell: The grip module accepts a removable magwell that can be swapped or removed depending on carry style. Why it matters: Faster reloads when you need them, less bulk when you don't.
- Tritium Night Sights Installed: The Plus Kit comes with tritium night sights already zeroed. Why it matters: Low-light shooting is covered out of the box—no extra gunsmithing costs.
- High Desert Finish: A subdued, field-tough coating that resists wear and glare. Why it matters: This finish holds up to holster wear and keeps your pistol looking like gear, not jewelry.
Who It's For
This is for the shooter who wants a compact 1911-style platform but doesn't want to be locked into one configuration. It's for the EDC carrier who trains in low light, who runs optics, and who wants ambi controls for a backup hand. It's also for the new gun owner who wants a premium pistol that grows with their skill—modularity means you can start with irons and add an optic later.
Pros and Cons
- Pros: Fast slide cuts, ambi controls, included night sights, modular magwell, rugged finish.
- Cons: The polymer grip module can feel slightly slick in wet hands—some shooters prefer stippling or a grip tape wrap. Also, the price point is premium, so it's not a budget buy.

FAQ
What comes in the OA Defense 2311 Compact Plus Kit?
The kit includes the pistol, two 17-round magazines, a set of tritium night sights installed, optic mounting plates for multiple footprints, and a removable magwell. It's ready to shoot out of the box.
Is the OA Defense 2311 Compact a true 1911 or a 2011?
It's a 2011-style pistol—meaning it uses a 1911-style grip angle and trigger, but with a double-stack magazine for higher capacity. The Compact Plus uses a polymer grip module, unlike traditional metal-framed 2011s.
Can I use Glock 19 holsters with this pistol?
No. The OA Defense 2311 has a different trigger guard shape and slide profile than a Glock. You'll need a holster specifically molded for the OA Defense 2311 or a universal 2011 holster.
How does the High Desert finish hold up to daily carry?
Very well. The finish is a ceramic-based coating that resists holster wear, sweat, and light scratches. Per OA Defense specs, it's rated for over 500 hours of salt spray corrosion resistance.
