Key Features
- Contoured Lightening-Cut Slide & Barrel Porting: These work together to reduce felt recoil and keep the muzzle flat during rapid fire. Why it matters: You get faster follow-up shots and stay on target, especially with defensive ammunition.
- Progressive Texture Polymer Grip: The texture is aggressive where your hand contacts the gun but smoother near the slide, making AIWB carry more comfortable. Why it matters: You get a secure hold without printing or chafing.
- Enhanced Pro Trigger Treatment: A slightly lighter pull than standard duty models, with a clean, smooth break. Why it matters: It helps you shoot more accurately under stress, without sacrificing reliability.
- Compact 15-Round Capacity: Holds 15+1 rounds of 9mm in a frame that’s easy to conceal. Why it matters: You get high capacity without the bulk of a full-size gun.
Who It’s For
This pistol is built for concealed carriers who train regularly and want a gun that shoots above its size. It’s ideal for anyone moving from a subcompact to a more capable compact, or for shooters who want a ported barrel for faster splits without going to a full race gun. New gun owners who are serious about defensive shooting will also appreciate the manageable recoil and intuitive controls.
Pros & Cons
- Pro: Ported barrel and slide cuts reduce muzzle flip noticeably – measured at about 30% less rise compared to a non-ported compact of similar weight.
- Pro: Grip texture is well thought out for both control and comfort during all-day carry.
- Con: Porting can make the gun louder and blow debris upward if you shoot from retention or close to your body. It’s something to be aware of if you train in tight spaces.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the oa def oa 2311 cmp pro 9mm 15rd gry?
It is a compact, ported 9mm pistol from OA DEF designed for concealed carry and personal defense. It features a lightening-cut slide, barrel porting, and a 15-round magazine.
Is this gun suitable for AIWB carry?
Yes. The progressive grip texture is smoother near the slide to reduce discomfort, and the compact size makes it easy to conceal appendix-style.
Does the porting affect reliability with all ammunition?
According to OA DEF specs, the porting is designed to work reliably with standard pressure and Plus P defensive loads. It’s always a good idea to test your carry ammo, but we haven’t seen issues with common brands.
What holsters are compatible?
Most holsters molded for compact 1911/2011-style frames will work, but we recommend a model with an open muzzle to accommodate the ported barrel.
Can I use this for competition shooting?
Absolutely. The porting and trigger make it a strong choice for USPA Production or Carry Optics divisions where compact guns are allowed.
