Key Features
- Optics-Ready Slide with Adapter Plates — Why it matters: You can mount a micro red-dot sight right out of the box without sending the slide to a machinist. Plates for RMRcc, Shield RMSc, Docter/Noblex, and C-More patterns are included.
- Cold Hammer-Forged, Polygonal Rifled Barrel — Why it matters: This barrel lasts longer and seals gas better than standard button-rifled barrels, giving you tighter groups and easier cleaning. IWI uses the same barrel-making process as their Tavor rifles.
- Low Bore Axis — Why it matters: The barrel sits lower in the frame, which reduces muzzle flip and helps you get back on target faster for follow-up shots. It’s a real help when shooting fast.
- Interchangeable Backstraps — Why it matters: Three different sizes let you dial in the grip for your hand size, whether you have small hands or big mitts. A better grip means better control.
- Two 17-Round Magazines Included — Why it matters: You get two mags right in the box, so you can hit the range immediately without buying extras. That’s a $50 value right there.
Who It’s For
This pistol is for the new shooter who wants a reliable, optics-ready 9mm without spending over a grand. It’s also for the experienced shooter who wants a tough, accurate range gun or a home-defense sidearm that won’t break the bank. The FDE finish appeals to folks who like a little color in their safe.
Pros & Cons
- Pros: Optics-ready with included plates, accurate barrel, low bore axis helps recoil, three backstraps fit most hands, two mags included, price under $500.
- Cons: Aftermarket support is smaller than Glock or Sig — holsters and parts are growing but not as plentiful. Trigger is serviceable but not as crisp as a $1,000 competition gun. No threaded barrel option from the factory.
Comparison
| Feature | IWI Masada (this pistol) | Glock 19 Gen5 MOS | Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 Optics Ready |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | $499.88 | $649+ | $579+ |
| Barrel | Cold hammer-forged, 4.1 in | Button-rifled, 4.02 in | Button-rifled, 4.0 in |
| Optics Plates | 4 plates included | 4 plates included (different footprint) | 2 plates included |

| Magazines | 2 x 17-round | 2 x 15-round | 2 x 17-round |
| Weight (unloaded) | 22.6 oz | 23.6 oz | 24.3 oz |
The IWI Masada undercuts both competitors by roughly $100-$150 while offering a cold hammer-forged barrel — a feature usually found on pricier guns. The Glock and M&P have larger aftermarket support, but the Masada gives you more value out of the box.
FAQ
What red-dot footprints does the IWI Masada accept?
The slide comes with adapter plates for RMRcc, Shield RMSc, Docter/Noblex, and C-More patterns. You can mount most popular micro dots like the Holosun 407K/507K, Trijicon RMRcc, and Shield RMSc without any extra machining.
Is the IWI Masada compatible with standard Glock sights?
No, the Masada uses its own dovetail dimensions. Factory sights are steel and dovetailed front/rear. Aftermarket options are available from companies like Dawson Precision and Night Fision.
Does the Masada have a manual safety?
The standard model does not have a manual safety. It has a trigger safety, firing pin block, and drop safety. A manual safety version may be available from IWI in some markets, but this SKU is the standard model.
What holsters work with the IWI Masada?
Holsters from companies like Alien Gear, Blackhawk, and Safariland are available. Many universal or compact 9mm holsters also fit, but we recommend a model-specific holster for best retention and trigger guard coverage.
