Key Features
- Optics-Ready Slide System — Why it matters: You can mount a red dot sight without sending the slide to a machine shop. The included adapter plates cover Trijicon RMR, Shield RMS, Docter/Noblex, and C-More footprints, saving you $80–150 in milling costs.
- Fully Ambidextrous Controls — Why it matters: Left-handed shooters get the same slide stop and magazine release as righties, no aftermarket parts needed. The reversible magazine catch sits flush on both sides, so your grip stays consistent.
- Interchangeable Wrap-Around Backstraps — Why it matters: Three backstraps let you dial in palm fill for small, medium, or large hands. The aggressive stippling pattern locks the gun in place even with sweaty or gloved hands.
- Threaded Barrel (1/2x28) — Why it matters: Suppressor or compensator ready out of the box. The barrel is cold-hammer-forged for longevity, and the threads are protected by a knurled cap that doubles as a thread protector.
- Low Bore Axis Design — Why it matters: The barrel sits lower relative to your hand, reducing muzzle flip and letting you get back on target faster for follow-up shots. This is a direct benefit for new shooters learning recoil management.
Who It’s For
This pistol fits three shooters best: the new shooter who wants a reliable, optics-ready gun without breaking the bank; the left-handed shooter tired of hunting for ambidextrous options; and the budget-minded enthusiast who wants a threaded barrel and suppressor compatibility from the factory. It’s also a solid choice for anyone who prefers a striker-fired trigger with a crisp break and short reset — the Masada’s trigger breaks at a consistent 5.5–6 lbs with minimal take-up.
Pros & Cons
- Pros: Optics-ready with multiple plate options, fully ambidextrous controls, threaded barrel included, aggressive grip texture, affordable price point, reliable feeding with a wide range of 9mm ammunition.
- Cons: The trigger has a bit of creep before the wall — not a dealbreaker, but competition shooters may prefer an aftermarket upgrade. The slide serrations are functional but could be deeper for easier manipulation with wet or gloved hands.

FAQ
Does the IWI Masada come with a threaded barrel?
Yes, all Masada pistols ship with a threaded barrel (1/2x28 threads) and a knurled thread protector. This is standard from the factory, not an optional add-on.
What red dot footprints does the Masada support?
The included adapter plates cover Trijicon RMR (and clones), Shield RMS, Docter/Noblex, and C-More. The slide is cut for a direct mount without plates, but I recommend using the plates for a secure fit.
Is the Masada compatible with Glock holsters?
No, the Masada has a different slide profile and trigger guard shape. You’ll need holsters specifically molded for the IWI Masada. Many manufacturers like Safariland and Vedder offer options.
How does the trigger compare to a Glock Gen5?
The Masada’s trigger has a similar pull weight (5.5–6 lbs) but a slightly longer take-up and more defined wall. It’s not as crisp as a Glock’s, but it’s consistent and predictable — good for a first striker-fired gun.
What is the magazine capacity?
It ships with two 17-round magazines. For states with capacity restrictions, 10-round magazines are available separately.
