Key Features
- Hammer-Forged Threaded Barrel – The 4.70″ barrel is cold-hammer-forged for extreme durability and accuracy, with a 1/2×28 threaded muzzle that accepts standard suppressors and compensators. Why it matters: You get a barrel that outlasts most competitors and ready-to-run suppressed shooting without a gunsmith.
- Suppressor-Height Sights with 1/3 Co-Witness – The steel serrated slide comes with tall three-dot sights that align through the Vortex CCW red dot window, giving you a backup aiming solution even with a can attached. Why it matters: You never lose your zero if the battery dies, and the iron sights clear most suppressor housings.
- Optic-Ready Slide with Vortex CCW Included – The slide ships with a Vortex CCW red dot mounted, saving you the hassle of buying and installing a separate optic. Why it matters: You get a proven, compact dot that’s ready to shoot the minute you open the box.
- Picatinny Rail and Textured Grip – The polymer frame features a standard 1913 Picatinny rail for lights and lasers, plus HK’s aggressive grip texture that locks in your hand under recoil. Why it matters: You can attach any weapon light or laser without adapters, and the grip stays planted during rapid fire.
- 20+1 and 17+1 Magazine Capacity – Includes one 20-round and one 17-round magazine, giving you high-capacity options for competition, home defense, or range use. Why it matters: You have the flexibility to run a full-size 20-rounder for the range or a slightly shorter 17-rounder for concealed carry.
Who It's For
This is for the shooter who wants a factory-built suppressor host with an optic already mounted. It’s ideal for competition shooters running USPSA or IDPA who need a reliable, high-capacity 9mm with a threaded barrel. It also works for home defense users who want a red dot and a suppressor without buying extra parts. If you prefer to build your own gun from a bare slide, this isn’t for you—the included optic and barrel make it a turnkey package.
Pros and Cons
- Pro: Factory-threaded barrel and suppressor-height sights eliminate the need for aftermarket parts.
- Pro: Vortex CCW red dot is included and mounted, saving you $200–$300 over buying separately.
- Pro: 20-round magazine gives you a competitive edge in capacity-based matches.
- Con: The Vortex CCW is a micro red dot with a small window, which may feel cramped for shooters used to full-size optics like the Trijicon SRO.
- Con: The trigger is HK’s standard VP9 striker trigger—good, but not adjustable like a Timney aftermarket unit.

FAQ
Does the HK 81001364 VP9A1 X Tactical come with the Vortex CCW already mounted?
Yes. The pistol ships with the Vortex CCW red dot mounted on the slide from the factory. You do not need to buy or install a separate optic.
Can I use standard VP9 magazines with this gun?
Yes. The VP9A1 X Tactical accepts all VP9A1-series magazines, including the included 17-round and 20-round mags. It does not accept older VP9 magazines without modification (the mag catch is different).
What thread pitch is the barrel?
The barrel is 1/2×28, which is the most common thread pitch for 9mm suppressors and compensators. Most pistol cans, like the SilencerCo Omega 9K or Dead Air Wolfman, will thread on directly.
Will the suppressor-height sights co-witness with the Vortex CCW?
Yes, they provide a 1/3 co-witness. The iron sights are visible through the lower third of the red dot window, giving you a backup if the dot fails.
