About this product
The GSG FireFly .22 LR 4.9in Threaded Barrel OD Green is a rimfire pistol built for shooters who want reliable, low-cost trigger time without compromising on features. Chambered in .22 LR, it pairs a durable OD Green polymer frame with a black slide and a factory-threaded barrel that accepts standard 1/2x28 muzzle devices. Whether you're working on fundamentals or just burning through bulk packs, this gun delivers consistent performance right out of the box.

Key Features
- Threaded Barrel (4.9") – Lets you attach a suppressor or compensator without a gunsmith. Per GSG, the barrel is cold-hammer-forged for accuracy and includes a 1/2x28 thread adapter for most .22 LR cans.
- Adjustable Rear Sight – Drift-adjustable for windage and elevation, so you can dial in your point of aim at 25 yards without guessing.
- OD Green Frame – Offers a non-slip grip texture that stays secure in wet or gloved hands, plus a distinctive look that stands out from all-black pistols.
- Single-Action Trigger – Crisp break with minimal overtravel, making it easier to shoot tight groups compared to many double-action rimfires.
- 10-Round Magazine – Enough capacity for a full stage at the range or a training drill, and the magazine release is ambidextrous for left-handed shooters.
Who It's For
This pistol is a solid pick for new shooters who want a low-recoil trainer that won't break the bank on ammo. It also works for experienced shooters who need a dedicated .22 host for a suppressor or a backup gun for small-game hunting. The OD Green frame adds a tactical edge without the premium price of cerakote.
Pros & Cons
- Pro: Affordable price tag – under $250 for a threaded-barrel .22 makes it one of the best values in the rimfire market.
- Pro: Reliable with high-velocity ammo – feeds most bulk .22 LR without hiccups after a 100-round break-in.
- Con: Finish on the slide can show holster wear over time – it's a polymer-framed budget gun, not a duty pistol. If you want a battle-worn look right away, this might actually be a plus.

FAQ
Does the GSG FireFly come with a thread adapter?
Yes, the package includes a 1/2x28 thread adapter so you can attach most .22 LR suppressors or compensators right away. No extra purchase needed.
Is the FireFly optics-ready?
No, the slide is not milled for a red dot. You'll need a dovetail mount adapter if you want to add an optic. That said, the adjustable iron sights are accurate enough for most range use.
What type of ammo does the FireFly prefer?
It runs best with high-velocity .22 LR (1200+ fps). Standard velocity or subsonic rounds may cause occasional stovepipes during the first 100 rounds. Once broken in, it handles a wider range of loads.
Can I use this gun for concealed carry?
It's possible, but the FireFly is designed more as a range trainer than a carry pistol. The polymer frame is lightweight, but the single-action trigger and long slide make it better suited for target shooting or plinking.
