Key Features
- 4” Fixed Barrel — Why it matters: A non-threaded, fixed barrel keeps the pistol compact and simple, making it easy to holster and carry to the range without worrying about extra length.
- Adjustable Rear Sight — Why it matters: You can dial in your point of aim quickly, which is especially helpful for new shooters learning sight alignment or for experienced folks who want to fine-tune for different .22 LR loads.
- Integrated Accessory Rail — Why it matters: Mount a small light or laser trainer without needing an adapter, giving you a way to practice low-light shooting or add a training aid.
- Blowback Operating System — Why it matters: This system cycles reliably with a wide range of .22 LR ammunition, and the moving slide helps simulate the feel of a centerfire pistol for training purposes.
- Ergonomic Polymer Grips — Why it matters: The grip texture and shape fit a variety of hand sizes, making the pistol comfortable for extended range sessions and easier to control for newer shooters.
Who It’s For
This pistol is a solid choice for anyone looking to practice fundamentals without spending a lot on ammo. New gun owners will appreciate the light recoil and simple operation. Experienced shooters can use it as a trainer that mirrors the controls of a full-size pistol. The purple/black finish also makes it a good option for someone who wants a bit of color in their collection.
Pros & Cons
- Pros: Affordable price point, light recoil, adjustable sights, accessory rail, 10-round magazine capacity.
- Cons: The fixed, non-threaded barrel means you can’t attach a suppressor. Some users report the finish can show wear over time with heavy use.

FAQ
Is the GSG FireFly .22 LR reliable with bulk ammo?
Yes, most users report reliable cycling with standard-velocity .22 LR ammunition. Like any .22 pistol, it can be sensitive to very low-velocity or wax-coated rounds. Stick with high-velocity or standard loads from brands like CCI or Federal for best results.
Does the FireFly come with extra magazines?
This model ships with one 10-round magazine. Extra magazines are available separately from GSG and aftermarket suppliers.
Can I mount a red dot sight on the GSG FireFly?
The slide is not cut for a red dot. You would need a dovetail mount that replaces the rear sight, or a rail mount if available. The accessory rail on the frame is for lights and lasers only.
Is the purple/black finish durable?
The purple is an anodized or painted finish on the frame. It holds up well to casual range use, but like any colored finish, it can show holster wear or scratches over time.
What is the warranty on the GSG FireFly?
GSG offers a limited one-year warranty on materials and workmanship. Check the manual or contact their support for specific terms.
