- G10 Textured Grips: Why it matters—they give you a solid purchase even with sweaty hands or light rain, keeping control where it counts.
- Ambidextrous Controls: Why it matters—lefties and righties alike can run the safety and slide release without fumbling, a real boon on the line.
- Beavertail & Ring Hammer: Why it matters—prevents hammer bite and gives that traditional 1911-style interface that feels like coming home.

This Girsan is right at home with southern shooters who appreciate a classic steel-frame pistol with modern upgrades. Whether you’re a bird hunter looking for a reliable sidearm for the truck, a weekend range shooter who wants accuracy and durability, or someone carrying every day, the MCP35 PI OPS fits the bill. It’s also a solid pick for anyone stepping up from a polymer pistol to something with a bit more heft and heritage.
Pros & Cons
- Pros: Steel frame soaks up recoil; optic-ready out of the box; ambidextrous controls; G10 grips are grippy without being rough; 15+1 capacity in a compact package.
- Cons: The matte black finish can show holster wear quicker than some coatings, but it’s easy to touch up. Also, the trigger has a bit of take-up—nothing a little break-in won’t smooth out.
