Key Features
- Optic-Ready Slide (RMS/RMSc): Why it matters: You can mount a red dot without cutting or milling the slide—saves you $150+ in gunsmith fees and keeps the warranty intact.
- 4.40″ Steel Barrel: Why it matters: That extra 0.40″ over a standard compact barrel gives you a touch more velocity and sight radius, while still concealing well under a jacket or IWB holster.
- Ambidextrous Safety: Why it matters: Left-handed or support-hand shooting? You don’t have to break your grip to swipe the safety off—critical in a defensive scenario.
- Picatinny Accessory Rail: Why it matters: Attach a weapon light for low-light identification without needing an adapter. One less thing to fumble with when seconds count.
- Cerakote Black Camo Frame: Why it matters: The coating resists holster wear, sweat, and moisture better than blued or parkerized finishes—keeps the gun looking solid after thousands of draws.
Who It’s For
This pistol is for the shooter who wants a girsan mc1911 c compact 4.40″ .45 acp optic-ready 8+1 that bridges the gap between a full-size duty gun and a pocket pistol. It fits the concealed carrier who trains regularly and wants a red dot for faster target acquisition. It also suits the budget-conscious enthusiast who appreciates a factory-milled optic cut over an aftermarket mod.
Pros & Cons
- Pro: Factory optic cut for RMS/RMSc—no adapter plate needed.
- Pro: Ambidextrous safety works for both lefties and righties.
- Pro: Picatinny rail accepts most standard weapon lights.
- Con: The trigger is serviceable but not match-grade—expect a 5-6 lb pull with some creep. A $25 spring kit can clean it up if you want a crisper break.

FAQ
What optics fit the Girsan MC1911 C slide?
The slide is cut for the RMS/RMSc footprint. This includes popular micro dots like the Holosun 407K/507K, Shield RMSc, and Swampfox Sentinel. Always check your optic’s footprint before mounting.
Is the Girsan MC1911 C compatible with standard 1911 holsters?
Most full-size 1911 holsters will work, but the rail and optic cut may require a holster designed for optic-ready guns with a rail. We recommend checking fit with your specific holster before carrying.
Does this pistol come with a warranty?
Yes, Girsan offers a limited lifetime warranty through Century Arms. The optic cut does not void the warranty since it’s factory-machined.
How does the 4.40″ barrel affect concealability?
The extra 0.40″ over a 4″ barrel adds about 0.4″ to the slide length. It still conceals easily in an IWB holster under an untucked shirt or jacket. The trade-off is better velocity and a longer sight radius.
