Key Features
- Threaded Barrel for Suppressors — The 4.5-inch polished stainless steel barrel is threaded (1/2×28), letting you run a can or compensator without sending the slide out for machining. Keeps your urban setup quiet and controllable.
- Optic-Ready Slide with Universal Footprint — Accepts Burris Fastfire 3, Vortex Viper, Vortex Venom, and Trijicon RMR directly — no adapter plates. That saves you $40-60 and keeps the deck height low for concealed carry.
- Ambidextrous Controls + Decocker — Slide stop and mag release work for righties and lefties. The decocker lets you drop the hammer safely without fumbling for a safety lever — critical in a tight hallway or parking garage.
- Textured Polymer Grip — Aggressive texture on the frame gives you purchase even with sweaty hands or after drawing from concealment. No need to stipple or add grip tape.
- 14-Round Capacity — Ships with one 14-round magazine. That’s 15+1 with a round in the chamber — enough for most self-defense scenarios without printing like a full-size duty gun.
Who It’s For
This pistol targets the urban CCW holder who wants a reliable, affordable carry gun that can run a red dot and suppressor without breaking the bank. Apartment dwellers who need a home-defense tool that doubles as a range toy will appreciate the threaded barrel for a compensator and the optic-ready slide for fast target acquisition.
Pros / Cons
- Pros: Optic-ready without plates, threaded barrel included, ambi controls, decocker, sub-$330 price point.
- Cons: The fixed sights are basic — you’ll likely upgrade to night sights or a red dot. Aftermarket holster support is growing but still thinner than Glock or S&W M&P.
Comparison: FMK MK G3 vs. Zev OZ9 vs. Lone Wolf Distributors Timberwolf

| Best For | Budget-conscious CCW with optics | Competition / high-end builds | Custom builders on a mid-range budget |
The FMK MK G3 gives you the optic-ready and threaded-barrel features of the Zev OZ9 at a fraction of the price. The Lone Wolf Timberwolf is a solid build platform, but lacks factory optic cut and a decocker — both of which matter for urban self-defense.
FAQ
Does the FMK MK G3 9mm 4.5″ 14rd Blue Jay Threaded come with a case or extra magazine?
It ships with one 14-round magazine, a cable lock, and a hard plastic case. No extra mags included, but spare 14-round and 17-round magazines are available separately.
What holsters fit the FMK MK G3 with the threaded barrel?
Most holsters designed for the standard MK G3 will work with the threaded barrel if they have an open muzzle end. Brands like We The People, Concealment Express, and Knightfall Customs offer compatible options. Always verify barrel clearance before ordering.
Can I mount a Holosun 507C or 407C on this slide?
The slide is cut for Burris Fastfire 3, Vortex Viper, Vortex Venom, and Trijicon RMR footprints. The Holosun 507C/407C uses the RMR footprint, so it will mount directly — no adapter plate needed. Just torque to spec and loctite.
Is the FMK MK G3 California compliant?
No. The MK G3 is not on the California Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale as of April 2026. Check your local laws before ordering.
