Key Features
- Optics-Ready Slide – The SHIELD/RMSc footprint means you can mount your favorite red dot without extra machining. Per EAA specs, the slide is pre-milled for a direct fit.
- Double-Stack 11-Round Magazine – You get 11+1 rounds of .45 ACP in a slim 1911-style frame. More ammo on tap without the bulk of a full-size double stack.
- Extended Beavertail & Polymer Grips – The extended beavertail prevents hammer bite, and the textured polymer grips give you a secure hold even with sweaty hands.
- Ambidextrous Safety – Left- and right-handed shooters can both run this gun. The safety is positive and easy to reach.
- Fiber Optic Front Sight – The front sight picks up light for fast target acquisition. The fixed rear is serrated to reduce glare.
Who It's For
This pistol is for the shooter who wants a 1911 platform with modern capacity. It's a great choice for range days, home defense, or competition. New gun owners will appreciate the familiar controls and the ability to add a red dot later.
Pros & Cons
- Pro: Optics-ready out of the box saves you $100+ on milling.
- Pro: 11 rounds of .45 ACP in a 1911-style grip.
- Pro: Ambidextrous safety for all shooters.
- Cons: The trigger has a bit of creep out of the box – it's serviceable but not match-grade. A little polishing or a drop-in trigger kit cleans it up nicely.

Is the EAA Witness 2311 compatible with standard 1911 holsters?
It fits most 1911 holsters designed for 5-inch barrels, but because the slide is thicker for the double-stack, you may need a holster made for a double-stack 1911 or a universal fit. I recommend checking fit before buying.
Can I use this pistol for USPSA Single Stack division?
Yes, the 11-round magazine puts it in Single Stack division, but check your local rules. The optics-ready slide would move you to Carry Optics or Limited if you mount a dot.
What optic footprints fit the slide?
The slide is cut for SHIELD/RMSc pattern optics. That includes the Shield RMS/RMSc, Holosun 407K/507K, and similar small-footprint dots. It does not fit RMR or Docter patterns without an adapter plate.
Does it come with extra magazines?
It ships with one 11-round magazine. Extra mags run about $35–$45 each and are available through EAA or aftermarket sources.
Is this gun made in the USA?
No, the Witness 2311 is manufactured by Girsan in Turkey and imported by EAA. Fit and finish are good for the price point, and parts support is solid through EAA.
