Key Features
- Optic-Ready Slide — Why it matters: Mount your favorite red dot without milling or gunsmithing, getting on target faster in low light or high-pressure situations.
- Double-Stack 15-Round Magazine — Why it matters: You get 10mm firepower with a 15+1 capacity, giving you more rounds downrange before reloading—critical for defense or competition.
- Ambidextrous Safety — Why it matters: Left-handed shooters can operate the thumb safety just as easily as righties, making this pistol truly versatile for any user.
- Extended Beavertail with Checkered Polymer Grip — Why it matters: The extended beavertail prevents slide bite, while the checkered texture keeps your hand locked in place during rapid fire or wet conditions.
- Accessory Rail — Why it matters: Attach a weapon light or laser for low-light shooting, expanding the pistol’s utility for home defense or night hunting.
Who It's For
This pistol is built for the southern shooter who wants a 10mm that pulls double duty—whether you’re carrying it on a hog hunt, using it as a trail gun, or running drills at the range. It’s also a solid choice for the handgun hunter who needs a reliable, high-capacity 10mm with an optic-ready slide.
Pros & Cons
- Pros: Optic-ready from the factory, high 15-round capacity in 10mm, ambidextrous controls, affordable price point for a double-stack 1911, and a proven Girsan build quality.
- Cons: The polymer grip may feel less premium than a full-steel frame to some traditionalists; the black finish, while durable, can show holster wear over time.

FAQ
Is the EAA Girsan Witness 2311 10mm 5in Optic Ready 15rd compatible with standard 1911 holsters?
Yes, most 5-inch 1911 holsters will fit this pistol, but you should always check holster compatibility with the accessory rail and optic cut. Many leather and Kydex holsters designed for 1911 Government models work well.
What type of optics does the slide accept?
The optic-ready slide uses a standard RMR footprint, so it works with popular red dots like the Trijicon RMR, Holosun 407C/507C, and similar models. A mounting plate may be required for some optics.
Can I use this pistol for hunting?
Absolutely. The 10mm Auto is a proven hunting cartridge for deer, hogs, and black bears, and the 5-inch barrel gives ample velocity. The optic-ready slide helps with precision shots, and the 15-round capacity is a plus for follow-ups.
Does the Witness 2311 have a match-grade barrel?
Per manufacturer specs, the barrel is a standard steel Government-profile barrel, not explicitly labeled match-grade. However, Girsan’s quality control is solid, and many users report excellent accuracy for a production 10mm.
