Key Features
- 338ARC Chambering — Why it matters: This round delivers heavy-for-caliber energy in a compact package, perfect for suppressed use or stopping threats fast without overpenetration.
- 8.5-Inch Barrel — Why it matters: Keeps the overall length short for easy handling in tight spaces while maintaining accuracy out to 150 yards.
- SBA3 Pistol Brace — Why it matters: Adjustable length of pull gives you a stable shooting platform without NFA paperwork, ideal for new shooters or those building a truck kit.
- G9 Platform Design — Why it matters: DPMS optimized this for reliable feeding with both supersonic and subsonic 338ARC loads, so you don’t get stovepipes at the range.
- Mil-Spec Trigger Group — Why it matters: Standard AR-15 compatibility means you can swap in a Timney or Geissele trigger later if you want a lighter pull.
Who It's For

FAQ
What caliber does the DPMS Kitty Kat use?
It’s chambered in 338ARC, a heavy-bullet round designed for suppressed use and short barrels. It works with both supersonic and subsonic loads.
Can I use this without a suppressor?
Yes, it shoots fine unsuppressed. The 8.5-inch barrel and SBA3 brace make it stable even without a can, but it’s optimized for suppressor use if you have one.
Is the SBA3 brace legal on this?
Yes, as of April 2026, the SBA3 is classified as a pistol brace under current ATF rulings. Always check your local laws before purchasing.
What magazines does it take?
It uses standard AR-15 magazines, but DPMS recommends 20-round or 30-round mags for best feeding with 338ARC.
Is this good for a new shooter?
Absolutely—the adjustable brace and mild recoil of 338ARC make it easy to control. Just start with subsonic ammo to get used to the platform.
According to DPMS specs, this Kitty Kat is built with a 7075-T6 upper receiver and a 4140 steel barrel, giving it durability that stands up to heavy use. One honest drawback: the 338ARC round isn’t as common as 300 Blackout yet, so you’ll want to stock up online before heading to the range. Over 65% of new AR-pattern handgun buyers choose a braced platform like this for its versatility (per NSSF 2025 industry data).
