About this product
The Diamondback DB15 7.62×39 7″ FDE, Carbon Lower is a compact, hard-hitting AR platform that packs the punch of the Soviet cartridge into a lightweight, maneuverable package. Chambered in 7.62 x 39mm and built with a 7″ heavy barrel, this pistol-length gas gun is ready for close-quarters work or brush-country carry. The carbon-fiber-infused lower receiver keeps weight down, and the flat dark earth finish means it won’t glare off your position.

Key Features
- Carbon-Fiber Lower Receiver: Why it matters: Saves real ounces over a standard aluminum lower, making the gun easier to tote all day without sacrificing strength.
- 7″ Heavy Barrel with 1:9.5 Twist: Why it matters: The shorter barrel keeps the rig compact for truck or backpack carry, while the twist rate stabilizes common 7.62×39 loads reliably.
- Pistol-Length Gas System: Why it matters: Tuned for the short barrel, it cycles smoothly with standard-pressure 7.62×39 ammo and reduces felt recoil.
- M-LOK Handguard (6″): Why it matters: Lets you mount lights, lasers, or a foregrip exactly where you want them, without adding bulk.
- Magpul MOE Grip: Why it matters: A proven, comfortable grip that fits most hands and gives you a natural point of aim.
Who It’s For
This DB15 is for the shooter who wants a compact, lightweight AR pistol that hits hard with affordable 7.62×39 ammo. It’s a great choice for truck guns, home defense, or plinking on the back forty. New gun owners will appreciate the simple manual of arms, while experienced shooters will like the weight savings and the ability to customize with standard M-LOK accessories.
Pros & Cons
Pros: Lightweight carbon lower, reliable gas system, uses cheap and available 7.62×39 ammo, compact 7″ barrel, solid Magpul furniture.
Cons: No iron sights included—you’ll need to budget for optics or backup sights. The 7″ barrel also means you lose some velocity compared to a 16″ rifle, so long-range accuracy beyond 200 yards is limited.

FAQ
Is this firearm a pistol or a rifle?
It is classified as a pistol under federal law because it has a barrel under 16″ and no stock—just a buffer tube. Check your state and local laws before purchase.
Does it come with sights?
No, the gun ships without any sights. You will need to add a red dot, reflex sight, or iron sights to use it.
What kind of magazines does it use?
It comes with one 28-round CPD magazine designed for 7.62×39 in an AR platform. Standard AR-15 magazines will not work.
Can I put a brace on the buffer tube?
Yes, the black padded buffer tube is ready for a pistol brace. Be sure to comply with current ATF regulations on braces.
What is the twist rate and why does it matter?
The barrel has a 1:9.5 twist. This is a good all-around rate for 7.62×39 bullets from 123 to 154 grains, giving you solid accuracy for most loads.
