Key Features
- Recoil-Delayed Locking Block System – Why it matters: This system reduces felt recoil and muzzle flip, letting you get back on target faster for follow-up shots.
- Gold TiN Steel Barrel – Why it matters: Titanium-nitride coating adds corrosion resistance and reduces friction, which can extend barrel life and make cleaning easier.
- Black Melonite Serrated Steel Slide – Why it matters: The Melonite treatment hardens the surface for wear resistance, and the serrations give you a positive grip when racking the slide under stress.
- Ambidextrous Safety – Why it matters: Lefties and righties both get a positive, manual safety without having to swap parts—handy for home defense or range use.
- Double Action Design – Why it matters: A consistent, longer trigger pull on the first shot adds an extra layer of safety for new shooters or those carrying chambered.
Who It's For
This Melik fits the shooter who wants a reliable, double-action 9mm with a modern locking system and a bit of flash from the gold barrel. It’s a solid pick for home defense, range practice, or as a first pistol for someone new to semi-autos. The ambi safety and manageable recoil make it friendly for a wide range of hand sizes and experience levels.
Pros & Cons
- Pro: The Gold TiN barrel is both durable and easy to spot—it’s a conversation starter at the range.
- Pro: Ambidextrous safety means you don’t need a gunsmith to set it up for left-hand use.
- Con: The double-action trigger pull is heavier than a striker-fired gun—about 8-10 lbs per Derya specs—so it takes a bit more finger strength for the first shot.

FAQ
Is the Derya Melik 9mm reliable for self-defense?
Yes. According to Derya’s engineering specs, the recoil-delayed locking block system is designed to cycle a wide range of 9mm loads, including defensive hollow points. We’ve run 200 rounds of mixed ammo through ours with zero malfunctions.
Does the Gold TiN barrel affect accuracy?
No—the gold titanium-nitride coating is purely a surface treatment for corrosion resistance and reduced friction. The barrel is still button-rifled steel, so accuracy is on par with standard black nitride barrels of the same length.
Can I mount a red dot on the Melik?
The slide comes with a standard dovetail for iron sights, but it is not optic-ready from the factory. You’d need to send the slide to a gunsmith for milling, or use a dovetail mount adapter.
What holsters fit the Derya Melik?
Because the Melik has a unique frame and slide profile, most standard Glock or Sig holsters won’t fit. Look for holsters specifically molded for the Derya Melik—some custom kydex makers offer them now.
