About this product
The CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical 9mm 4.6in 10-Round Black is a full-size service pistol built on the proven CZ 75 platform. It swaps the manual safety for an ambidextrous decocking lever, making it a natural fit for those who prefer a double-action/single-action (DA/SA) trigger. The extended beavertail and rubber grip panels help you get a consistent, repeatable hold, while the integral 1913 accessory rail lets you mount a light or laser. This model ships with 10-round magazines, and the cold hammer-forged barrel is finished in corrosion-resistant black polycoat.

Key Features
- Ambidextrous Decocking Lever — Why it matters: Lets you safely lower the hammer without touching the trigger, and works for both right- and left-handed shooters. No manual safety to fumble with.
- Extended Beavertail — Why it matters: Prevents hammer bite and gives you a high, comfortable grip that helps manage recoil and speeds up follow-up shots.
- Integral 1913 Accessory Rail — Why it matters: Lets you attach a weapon light or laser without needing an adapter. Keeps your setup compact and secure.
- Cold Hammer-Forged Barrel (4.6 inches) — Why it matters: The forging process makes the barrel tougher and more accurate than cut-rifled barrels. Expect consistent performance round after round.
- Rubber Grip Panels — Why it matters: Provide a non-slip surface even with sweaty hands or in wet conditions. Help you maintain control during rapid fire.
Who It's For
This pistol is for the shooter who wants a reliable full-size 9mm for home defense, range use, or duty carry. The DA/SA trigger and decocker make it a solid choice if you're transitioning from a revolver or prefer a traditional manual of arms. It also suits left-handed shooters thanks to the ambidextrous controls.
Pros & Cons
- Pro: The polycoat finish is tough and resists holster wear and corrosion better than many blued finishes.
- Pro: The 1913 rail is standard, so you can mount most modern lights without extra parts.
- Pro: The DA/SA trigger gives you a heavy first pull (for safety) and lighter subsequent shots.
- Con: The 10-round magazine capacity is lower than the standard 18-round magazines found on other SP-01 models. This is due to state restrictions, so if you live in a free state, you may want to buy higher-capacity magazines separately.

FAQ
Is the CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical safe to carry with a round in the chamber?
Yes. The decocking lever safely lowers the hammer to the half-cock notch, which acts as a mechanical safety. The DA trigger pull is heavy enough to prevent accidental discharge, and the firing pin block prevents the gun from firing unless the trigger is pulled fully.
Can I use standard 18-round CZ 75 magazines in this pistol?
Yes, the SP-01 Tactical accepts all CZ 75 full-size magazines. The 10-round magazine is included for compliance with certain state laws, but you can use higher-capacity magazines if your state allows them.
Does the SP-01 Tactical have a manual safety?
No. This variant uses a decocking lever instead of a manual safety. The gun operates as a DA/SA with a decocker. If you prefer a manual safety, look for the CZ 75 SP-01 Safety model.
What holsters fit the CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical?
Most holsters designed for the CZ 75 SP-01 will fit the Tactical model, but make sure the holster is cut for a decocker (not a safety). The accessory rail does not affect holster fit for most quality makers.
Is the 4.6-inch barrel accurate enough for competition?
Yes. The cold hammer-forged barrel is known for excellent accuracy. Many shooters use the SP-01 in USPSA Production division and IDPA SSP division. The 10-round magazine limits you in capacity, but the gun itself is accurate.
