Key Features
- Radial Delayed Blowback System – This CMMG-exclusive action reduces felt recoil and keeps the gun on target for faster follow-up shots in tight quarters.
- 8″ Black Nitride Threaded Barrel – The nitride finish resists wear and corrosion, and the threaded muzzle accepts suppressors or compensators for noise reduction or recoil control.
- EML M-LOK Handguard with Full-Length Slots – You get M-LOK slots on both sides and the bottom, plus M-LOK between the top Picatinny rail sections, so mounting lights, lasers, or grips is simple.
- CMMG RipBrace – This quick-deploy brace gives you a stable cheek weld without the NFA paperwork, and it collapses for compact storage.
- CMMG Zeroed Grip – The ergonomic angle reduces wrist fatigue during extended range sessions and improves control under stress.
Who It’s For
This Banshee is built for the urban CCW holder who wants a pistol-caliber carbine for home defense or trunk gun duty. It fits apartment dwellers who need something compact enough to maneuver through hallways but powerful enough to stop threats with .45 ACP. If you already carry a Glock 21 or 30, the magazine commonality simplifies your ammo and mag setup.
Pros / Cons
- Pro: Radial Delayed Blowback makes .45 ACP feel more like 9mm, reducing muzzle rise and fatigue.
- Pro: Glock-pattern magazines are affordable, reliable, and widely available.
- Pro: The 8″ barrel keeps the overall length short while still getting good velocity from .45 ACP.
- Con: The titanium Cerakote finish is durable but lighter-colored than standard black finishes, which may show carbon residue more.

The Zev OZ9C-X is a high-end 9mm pistol but lacks the brace and longer barrel of the Banshee. The Lone Wolf Timberwolf is a budget-friendly Glock clone but doesn’t offer the same recoil management or .45 ACP power. For urban defense where you want a shoulder brace and .45 caliber, the CMMG Banshee fills a specific niche.
