Specifications Caliber: 7.62x39mm Barrel Length: 12.25 inches Magazine: 30-round detachable box Handguard: Classic wood Action: Semi-automatic Receiver: Stamped steel Why Choose the Draco NAK9 From a duty perspective, the Draco’s primary advantage is its compact size combined with a rifle-caliber cartridge. The 12.25-inch barrel provides a significant ballistic advantage over traditional handguns, making it a potent option for vehicle-based or confined space defense where a full-length rifle is impractical. Its AK-pattern construction prioritizes simplicity and reliability, with controls designed to be operated under stress. This pistol is not a range toy; it is a serious tool that demands proper training and respect for its capabilities. The platform’s reputation for functioning with minimal maintenance in adverse conditions is well-earned. For the civilian defender, it serves as a formidable home defense firearm, though its ballistic performance and muzzle signature are best managed with appropriate training and hearing protection. What’s in the Box Century Arms Draco NAK9 Pistol 30-round Magazine Owner’s Manual Frequently Asked Questions Q: Is the Draco NAK9 considered a pistol or a short-barreled rifle (SBR)? A: As configured and sold, this is a pistol. It does not have a stock and is designed to be fired with one or two hands. Adding a stock to this firearm without first filing the proper ATF Form 1 to register it as an SBR is a federal felony. Q: What is the effective range of this Draco AK pistol? A: With its 7.62x39mm cartridge and 12.25-inch barrel, effective range on man-sized targets is realistically 200-300 yards in the hands of a skilled shooter. Its practical defensive range is significantly less, dictated by target identification, environmental factors, and user proficiency. Q: Are standard AK-47 magazines compatible with this draco for sale? A: Yes. The Century Arms Draco NAK9 uses standard, readily available AK-pattern magazines in 7.62x39mm, which is a major logistical advantage for owners familiar with the platform.
