About this product

BRN-180 Gen3 Upper Receiver: Piston-Driven Performance for Your AR-15

Elevate your AR-15 platform with the BRN-180 Gen3 Upper Receiver, a cutting-edge upgrade that combines modern engineering with proven reliability. This 16" upper chambered in 223 Wylde delivers exceptional accuracy and reduced recoil, making it ideal for target shooting, hunting, and tactical applications. As a BLEM (blemished) model, you get the same high-quality construction and performance at a significant discount, with minor cosmetic imperfections that don't affect function.

Why Choose the BRN-180 Gen3 Upper?

The BRN-180 series represents a revolutionary approach to AR-15 design, moving away from the traditional direct impingement system to a short-stroke piston mechanism. This Gen3 model builds on its predecessors with enhanced durability and smoother operation. The piston-driven system keeps gas and carbon fouling out of the receiver, resulting in cleaner internals, cooler operation, and increased reliability in adverse conditions. Whether you're building a new rifle or upgrading an existing one, this upper offers a noticeable improvement in shooting experience.

Key Features and Benefits

• 223 Wylde Chamber: Optimized for both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammunition, providing versatility and improved accuracy with a wide range of loads.
• 16" Barrel Length: Balances maneuverability with velocity, making it suitable for various shooting scenarios from close-quarters to medium-range engagements.
• Piston-Driven System: Reduces heat transfer to the bolt carrier group, extends component life, and minimizes maintenance compared to direct impingement.
• Gen3 Enhancements: Includes refinements like improved gas regulation, better heat dissipation, and a more robust mounting system for accessories.
• BLEM Value: Offers the same performance and warranty as a standard model, with only superficial marks or scratches, perfect for budget-conscious shooters.

Technical Specifications

This upper receiver is designed for compatibility with standard AR-15 lower receivers, featuring a Picatinny rail for optics and accessories. The 223 Wylde chamber provides tighter tolerances than a standard 5.56 chamber, enhancing precision without sacrificing reliability. The piston system operates smoothly, reducing felt recoil and improving follow-up shot speed. It's an excellent choice for those seeking a reliable, low-maintenance upper that performs consistently in all conditions.
