Key Features
- Enhanced Grip Geometry — Why it matters: The reshaped grip and G10 panels provide a secure hold, even with sweaty hands, reducing muzzle flip for faster follow-up shots.
- Black QPQ Finish — Why it matters: This corrosion-resistant treatment stands up to humidity and sweat, keeping the slide and frame looking sharp through years of use.
- 5-Inch Barrel — Why it matters: The longer sight radius and barrel length improve accuracy at 25 yards, giving you tight groups from the bench or in competition.
- 10+1 Capacity — Why it matters: With 10 rounds in the magazine plus one in the chamber, you get more firepower than a standard 1911 without sacrificing the slim profile.
- Traditional Trigger Pull — Why it matters: The crisp single-action trigger breaks cleanly around 4.5 pounds, allowing precise shot placement for target work and defensive drills.
Who It's For
This pistol suits shooters who appreciate the 1911 platform but want modern features like a durable finish and better grip texture. It works well for range practice, USPSA single-stack competition, or as a reliable home-defense sidearm. If you like a steel frame for recoil control and a classic look with updated ergonomics, the AF1911 Enhanced fits your hand.
Pros & Cons
- Pros: Accurate barrel out of the box; comfortable grip for medium-to-large hands; affordable price for a steel-frame 1911; QPQ finish resists rust.
- Cons: The trigger has a bit of take-up before the break—some shooters prefer a fully adjustable trigger for competition work.

FAQ
What magazines does the Alpha Foxtrot AF1911 Enhanced use?
It uses standard 1911 9mm magazines with a 10-round capacity. Many aftermarket 1911 9mm mags from brands like Wilson Combat or Mec-Gar will work, but Alpha Foxtrot recommends their factory mags for best fit.
Is the AF1911 Enhanced optics-ready?
No, the standard model comes with a dovetailed front sight and adjustable rear sight. There is no optics cut on the slide, but you can have a gunsmith mill it for a red dot if desired.
Can I use this for concealed carry?
It is a full-size 1911 with a 5-inch barrel and steel frame, so it is heavy for daily carry. Most shooters prefer it for range use or competition, but with a strong belt and holster, some do carry it openly.
Does the Black QPQ finish wear off quickly?
QPQ is a durable finish that resists holster wear better than bluing. With regular cleaning, it holds up well for years. Some edge wear may show on high-contact areas after heavy use.
