Stonebridge Gun Shop has sold thousands of concealed carry pistols. These five micro-compacts are what we’d recommend in 2026 based on customer feedback, returns data, and our own range time.

1. Heckler & Koch VP9CC — Best Overall for 2026

$1,399 w/ optic | 12+1 | 17.64 oz | 3.12″ barrel

The HK VP9CC with Vortex Defender CCW is the first micro-compact where we think the premium is fully justified. The trigger outclasses everything else on this list. The deep-mount optic system is a generation ahead. The cold hammer-forged barrel will outlast the gun’s owner. It’s expensive, it’s new, and holster options are limited — but it’s the best-built micro-compact we’ve ever handled.

Downside: Price. Twice what most competitors cost. No long-term reliability data yet. If this is your only gun, we’d say wait 6 months for the market to validate it. For our detailed breakdown, read the full review.

2. Glock 43X MOS — Best for Simplicity

~$599 | 10+1 (15+1 w/ S15) | 18.7 oz | 3.41″ barrel

The 43X MOS does nothing exceptionally well, but it does everything reliably. That’s the Glock formula and it works. Optics-ready slide, infinite aftermarket, and the option for 15+1 with Shield Arms magazines. Our lowest return rate of any micro-compact we stock.

Downside: Boring trigger. Stock 10-round capacity requires aftermarket mags to compete. Aesthetic appeal is nonexistent.

3. Sig Sauer P365 — Best Established Platform

~$599 | 10+1/12+1 | 17.8 oz | 3.1″ barrel

Six years of market dominance for a reason. The P365 ecosystem — holsters, lights, optics, training classes — is unmatched. It’s the Honda Civic of carry guns: not exciting, thoroughly proven, available everywhere.

Downside: We’ve seen more trigger spring failures than any other brand in this list. Not alarming numbers, but not zero. The macro/spectre/x lineup creates confusion about which model to buy.

4. HK CC9 — Best Budget HK

~$699-799 | 10+1 | similar dimensions

If the VP9CC’s price gives you pause, the CC9 delivers 80% of the experience at 50% of the cost. US-designed, different trigger system, standard optic mounting. It’s not the VP9CC, but it’s a legitimate HK at a Sig-competitive price. See how they compare in our VP9CC vs CC9 comparison.

Downside: Not German-made. Doesn’t have the deep optic mount. Trigger doesn’t match the VP9CC.

5. Springfield Hellcat Pro — Best Capacity

~$634 | 15+1 | 19.5 oz | 3.7″ barrel

Fifteen rounds in a carry gun that doesn’t print like a duty weapon. The Hellcat Pro’s grip and longer barrel make it more shootable than the original Hellcat. Good value if round count is your deciding factor.

Downside: Thicker and heavier than everything above it on this list. The grip texture wears on skin during extended appendix carry. Trigger is merely adequate.

Our Take

If a customer asks us “what should I buy?” with no other constraints, we hand them the P365 or 43X. They’re proven, affordable, and supported. If they say “I want the best regardless of price,” we hand them the VP9CC. Both are honest answers depending on what matters to you.
